Accidental Style
Fuquay artist Keri Bowie, has been described as, “a talent both intriguing and captivating, conveying emotions through color and stroke… a feast for my eyes”. She specializes in colorful contemporary paintings and utilizes many mediums- oil, acrylic and watercolor- to bring a full range of life and movement to every aspect of her art.
Early on Keri began her artistic expression in all things creative, from sculpture to photography before concentrating her talents on paint. She found her unique style quite on accident while “just having such a strong urge to paint something, but not having an end result in mind. I just let the color and brush do what it wanted and was more relaxed and energized by its outcome than my previous methods.”
Keri and husband Tom, both originally from Long Island, New York, are busy working and raising a toddler, Keegan. This shift in responsibility only exemplified her drive “to maintain my identity as an artist”. Finding time to be creative, set up shows, and explore new opportunities has become an art in itself to this busy mother, wife and career woman.
She strongly believes that the more time she spends artistically will only benefit her family and help create a healthy role model for her son to chase his dreams. Having spent most of her life drawing, painting, or sculpting, it is only recently that she has set goals on sharing her visions. Determined, as she is, more and more eyes will have opportunities to “feast”.
